The Daring Way™ is the organization that houses Brené Browns research and development.  The curriculum for The Daring Way™ and Rising Strong™ workshops originated here.

In keeping with the Daring Way™ philosophy, discoverBRAVE believes that leaning into vulnerability, practicing courage, and building resilience skills requires that we address thought, emotion, and behaviour. This integrated approach helps people transform the way they live, love, parent, and lead.

All workshops, groups, retreats and individual counselling, at discoverBRAVE, are grounded in the research and philosophy emerging from Dr. Brené Brown's ongoing work around vulnerability, courage and authenticity.

This work is designed for work with individuals, couples, families, work teams, and organizational leaders, and it can be facilitated in clinical, educational, and professional settings.

Who is Brené Brown?

Honestly, I wanna see you be brave!

- Sarah Bareilles, Brave -

Dr. Brené Brown is a research professor at the University of Houston Graduate College of Social Work. She has spent the past fifteen years studying vulnerability, courage, worthiness, and shame. Her groundbreaking research has been featured on PBS, NPR, CNN, The Katie Show, and Oprah Winfrey’s Super Soul Sunday.

Brené first 2 #1 Best Sellers, Daring Greatly: How the Courage to Be Vulnerable Transforms the Way We Live, Love, Parent and Lead,  and Rising Strong have had a significant impact on our understanding of vulnerability and courage. In Daring Greatly Brené dispels the cultural myth that vulnerability is weakness and argues that it is, in truth, our most accurate measure of courage. Fast Company Magazine named Daring Greatly one of the top ten business books of 2012. In Rising Strong we learn that if we are brave enough long enough, we will fall.  Brené tells us what it takes to get back up, and how owning our stories of disappointment, failure, and heartbreak gives us the power to write a daring new ending. Struggle, Brené Brown writes, can be our greatest call to courage, and rising strong our clearest path to deeper meaning, wisdom, and hope.

Brené’s 2010 TEDx Houston talk, The Power of Vulnerability, is one of the top ten most viewed TED talks in the world, with over 10 million viewers. Additionally, Brené gave the closing talk at the 2012 TED conference where she talked about shame, courage, and innovation.
